Tel Aviv International LGBT film festival
Rebranding the International LGBTQ Film Festival in Tel Aviv was an exciting project.
The goal was to rebrand a film festival that’s been around since 2006 and provide a new glamorous and current look, a look that will fit the festival’s legacy – one of the biggest and most important LGBTQ films festivals in the world.
We decided from the get-go to try and preserve as many of the original brand’s visual assets as possible while giving them an up-to-date makeover.
We polished and flattened the logo.
We gave life to the festival’s new mascot, a seahorse – a gender-fluid twist on Muybridge’s Galloping Horse – the first moving picture in history.
From there we galloped to (or perhaps dove into) developing a unique visual language for digital assets, and for a huge, printed campaign spread all around Tel Aviv.
The festival was a triumph – and the new look -made waves.
